Something I tried. Erin thinks it's inspiring; not fabulous, but second helpings were
had by all and a discussion of revisions ensued.
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 3/4 Cup Barley
- 2-3 Tbsps Olive oil
- 1/2 Cup White wine
- 2 minced Onions
- Salt
- white pepper
- cinnamon
- ground cloves
- crushed bay leaves
- 1 Cup Chopped Cranberries
- 1 Potato
Roast the barley in a 300° oven for about 15min, or until a nice color.
Add roasted barley to a large pot. Add Olive oil, onions, cranberries, spices and white wine.
Cook over medium-high heat about 15min or until onions are well done.
Add ground turkey. Cook until browned. Add potatoes, and 2 cups water.
Cook over medium heat until potatoes are done. Add another cup water, heat as desired.
Serve
