Procedure:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13; set aside.

In large bowl combine, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread in bottom of 9x13. Arrange pineapple slices over brown sugar mixture. Place a cherry in center of each pineapple slice, if desired. Pour cake batter over pineapple.

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Quickly run knife around edges of cake to loosen; immediately invert cake onto serving platter. Serve warm.
